Fat Straw serves that new wonderful drink called bubble tea. If you haven't tried it yet, it's a really great lower calorie tea alternative to various coffee drinks. The bubbles are tapioca balls that you bring up through the fat straw and eat. The tapioca balls are vaguely coffee flavored and slightly sweet. There are several types of tea to choose from and several flavorings they can add. Typically bubble tea has non-dairy creamer added to it, but you can get the tea without that if you like too.
There is only one size of bubble tea, I'm guessing it's around 16 ounces and looks like it's a little bigger than a Starbucks grande. After they mix up your drink a machine seals a plastic cover to the top.
In addition to tea they have coffee, lattes, and espresso and that kind of thing too. I had a latte and it was good. They use Stumptown coffee and that's always pretty good.
If you're hungry they make fresh bagel sandwiches. One person had the veggie bagel sandwich and thought it was OK.
Additionally, they have free Wi-Fi and a free computer you can use if you don't have a laptop. The seating is very comfortable and the place is quite spacious
If you're in the area try them out. If you haven't tried bubble tea it's definitely worth a try. It's fun and tastes great.
