If you are into sea life, penguins, or tropical fish tanks, the New England Aquarium is a great place. Outside the museum you will be greeted by the outdoor seal tank. Here you a guaranteed to have fun watching the seals swim around in glassed in pool that mimics the seal sea habitat. Once inside the first exhibit you will find in the massive, 150,00 Gallon, penguin habitat exhibit. This exhibit features 3 penguin colonies:
* African
* Little Blue
* Rockhopper
Each colony has a big rock/iceberg for climbing and diving into the water. Its great fin watching the penguins.
In the center of the penguin exhibit is the base of the New England Aquariums awesome circular glass fish tank that extends from the floor of the aquarium all the way to the very top. Inside the big tank visitors will find:
* Sharks
* Eagle Rays
* Colorful eels
* Barracuda
* Sea Turtles
* And much more
Every couple of hours you can go to the top of the tank and watch scuba divers jump in to feed the fish and educate the audience.
Other New England Aquarium attractions include:
* Jelly Fish exhibit- The are beautiful to look at.
* Touch Pond- Where kids can dip their hands in the water and touch starfish, hermit crabs and sea urchins.
* Omni theater
The food at the aquarium is mediocre so pack a lunch or plan to walk to several nearby restaurant that are quite good, particularly Sel De La Terre. The Aquarium is a great place to spend two to three hours.
