Tabla gets food right without exhobident prices. They privide an option for large and small sized portions, an essential service more restaurants should provide. They also allow a prix fix option that selects one small appitizer, small pasta, and, small entree for $23. In my case my companion opted for that option and I selected a small entree. A perfect sized meal that could be eaten nightly with no ill effects on the waistline. The miatake flan was outstanding for the appitizer. Savory and slightly sweet with butternut squash accents. The tajarin pasta with butter and sage was quite good, although the tajarin at Alba Osteria was slightly more tender. The were also closer to the preferred width of 2mm. Tablas were closer to 4 mm wide. Unlike Alba's, Tabla also provided the traditional truffle accompanyment. We tried the sage butter for comparison.
The ambiance is unpretentious, with prompt but unhurried service. Parking can be challenging if there is a local festival, but otherwise is possible with some limited searching
