There is a lot of great pizza in Boston and Upper Crust is one of the best. The food is consistently good at all their locations, but since I just ate at the Coolidge Corner shop in Brookline, my review is focused their.
I walked in at 1:00 at the tail end of the popular lunch hour. The Pizzeria was reasonably clean and I was able to order in within a minute of entering. I got two HUGE slices of the day and a 20 ounce drink for $7.00. Its worth noting that 2 Upper Crust slices is the equivalent of 4 slices at most places.
While their were not any empty tables while I was there, I did manage to get a table before my slices were ready (and those slices come quick). The slice of the day in this case was portabello mushroom, roasted red peppers and garlic, YUM! Both slices were hot and fresh out of the oven. The cheese was of the highest quality and just the right amount of brown. The sauce is extremely fresh and chunky tomato style.
I did mix up the two crusts on this visit and had one regular crust slice and one whole wheat. The traditional crust is tastier, but the whole wheat quite good complete with lower carbs and more complex carbohydrates.
I'm a fan of Upper Crust, and recommend a slice the next time you are in the area.
